Recently, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Anhui Province announced the first batch of flagship products in key provincial industrial chains. The SC240 Superconducting Cyclotron, developed by Hefei CAS Ion Medical and Technical Devices Co., Ltd. (CIM), was successfully selected for its breakthrough technological innovation and outstanding industrialization achievements.

 The CIM SC240 Superconducting Cyclotron adopts world-leading superconducting magnet technology, capable of delivering a stable 240 MeV proton beam output. Its performance indicators reach an internationally advanced level, meeting the full-depth treatment requirements of proton radiotherapy for tumors. The system has now achieved standardized mass production and has been successfully implemented in two domestic proton therapy centers, providing strong support for the independent and controllable development of China’s high-end medical equipment industry.

 The Flagship Products of Key Industrial Chains represent major innovation achievements developed during Anhui Province’s 14th Five-Year Plan period in critical fields such as major equipment and key foundational materials. These products demonstrate breakthroughs in core technologies and strong industry leadership, serving as an important indicator of Anhui’s progress in industrial transformation and upgrading.

 This recognition reflects the provincial government’s high affirmation of CIM’s technological innovation capabilities. Looking ahead, CIM will continue to advance the technological iteration and industrialization of proton therapy systems, driving the independent innovation and development of China’s high-end medical equipment sector.
